Placement FAQs

What time of the year is your recruitment programme?
 
The recruitment programme is continuous, and typically runs from November to December. The summer internship recruitments go from July mid week through September last week. Lateral / experienced hiring takes place in October along with the full-time recruitment during Placement Week in December. For specific dates in the current year please write to the Placement Manager. If you are a first time recruiter, please write to placements@mica.ac.in . The General Secretary, Placements will be your one-point contact on campus.

Where can I get a recruitment guide?
 
The recruitment guide and student profile book for the year is typically available for dispatch/download in September. For a printed copy of the recruitment brochure and profile book, please e-mail General Secretary, Placements (PGPCM) or write to the Recruitment Office, Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad (MICA), Shela, Ahmedabad 380 058, INDIA.

What information is essential to provide in a PPT/Corporate Presentation/Brochure?
 
The information that students typically look for in corporate presentations is:
• Profile of the company
• Profile of the career role (Projects in case of summer internships & responsibilities)
• Locations where the student is likely to be posted
• Company salary / stipend

What amenities / infrastructure are available for a presentation/recruitment process on campus?
 
The campus is equipped with state-of-the-art physical, communication and computing infrastructure to facilitate a smooth recruitment process. Computing facilities, projection facilities for multimedia presentations, telecommunication facilities for teleconferencing, and seminar rooms and presentation halls for presentations/workshops can be arranged for your specific needs by writing to General Secretary, Placements (PGPCM) with the details.

May I conduct recruitment processes off-campus?
 
Taking students off-campus for the recruitment process is not normal practice. However this may be considered on a case-to-case basis. Please consult General Secretary, Placements (PGPCM) for working out the details.
 
6.
What are the various ways I can recruit remotely?
 
In cases where you are unable to come down to the campus or you prefer to meet the students at your office, recruitment processes can be conducted through teleconferencing.
 
7.
What time of the year is the summer internship?
 
The academic schedule for the summer internship is normally between the mid-week of July and last week of September. The internship may last for a minimum of eight weeks to a maximum of 10 weeks.
 
8.
What are the various ways of recruiting students?
 
Students can be recruited by:
• A two-month full time summer internship
• Experienced / lateral positions
• Full-time positions

What are the typical steps in the recruiting process?
 

The typical steps in the recruitment process would be
• Communicating your interest to the General Secretary, Placements (PGPCM)
• Finalize a recruitment slot (day and date during the campus placement week)
• Corporate Presentation (Pre-Placement Talk)
• Formal Statement of Intent
• Submission of CVs / Application by students
• Short listing of students
• Pre-Processes ( Tests / Group Discussions )
• Interviews (on-campus preferred)
• Selection list to be given to General Secretary, Placements (PGPCM)

 

Travel Details

Ahmedabad is well connected with all the major metros in India . There are direct flights by Indian Airlines, Jet Airways and other private airlines both in the morning and the evening directly from Delhi and Mumbai. Daily, six express trains connect between Ahmedabad and Mumbai. MICA is 50 minutes to an hour's drive from the airport and 45 minutes to one hour from the railway station. The institute will be pleased to organize transport to campus on your providing details of your travel plans.

Stay Details

Executives could make arrangements at any of the leading hotels in Ahmedabad. Most of these hotels are within a radius of 15-20 kms from the campus.
