Mudra Institute of Communications
Ahmedabad (MICA), an institution of excellence
for offering courses on Communications
Management it also takes social responsibility
of using the understanding of communications
for social empowerment. It focuses on
applied research in social communication
organises and conduct live projects on
use of communication for development,
climate change and disaster communication,
besides organising training and education
in health communications.
For couple of years,
MICA has been engaged in conducting applied
research in areas of social development.

for Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation
- Beneficiary Assessment of Quality of
Care Provided by FPAI Clinics
- Early Disaster Warning System for six
identifies Hydro-meteorological Disasters
As a socially concerned
organisation, MICA has worked towards
strengthening health communications system
by carrying out researches and conducting
a number of comprehensive training programmes
for health professionals. The Institute
has closely worked with the Governments
of Chattisgarh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh,
and Uttarakhand, in strengthening their
Information, Education, and Communication
(IEC) to take the health communication
right up to the villagers. With the Governments
of Gujarat and Jharkhand the Institute
has worked on their water and sanitation
programmes.
MICA is consulted by
the UNICEF, USAID, UNFPA, CARE (India),
Counterpart International, National Disaster
Management Authority, and National AIDS
Control Organisation (NACO) on a regular
basis.
