ALUMNI
MICA endeavours to keep in touch
with its alumnus by having annual Alumni Meets. Chapters
have also been set up at several places, outside Ahmedabad
which have a number of people from the institute settled
in or around.
The Annual Alumni Meet for 2007 was
held from 26th to 28th January, 2007 at MICA Ahmedabad.
About a hundred participants from all over the country
revisited the campus. They represented the diverse
industries where they have established themselves.
Several MICA alumni hold key positions
in global companies like L’Oreal, Starcom, HLL,
HT Media, Leo Burnett, Cavin Care, JWT, IBM, TNS,
FCB Ulka, IMRB, Maersk Line, E & Y, History Channel
and Radio Mirchi, to name a few.
The meet provided a platform for
ideas and introspection towards keeping the curriculum
robust and contemporary to suit the current trends
in the various industries where MICA graduates usually
find themselves immediately or a few short years after
graduation. Several alumnus also welcomed the idea
of returning to campus as guest/ visiting faculty
to share their learning with the current batch of
MICAns.
Chapter meets were held
at the following places:
Mumbai: August 26, 2006. About 115
alumni across all batches attended the meet. They
hold senior positions in companies such as Blowplast,
ICICI Bank, Mudra, Starcom, L’Oreal etc.
Bangalore: November 11, 2006.
Since it was a rainwashed evening the turnout was
thin. The participants now worked in HLL, IIM, Cricinfo,
HP Global, Genpac etc.
Delhi: October 14, 2006.
The participants from companies like Euro RSCG, JWT,
Research International, Initiative Media, Citi Finance,
IMRB International etc. etc.
Alumni chapters in other cities
in India and overseas are in the offing and will depend
on the number of participants there. To participate
