Internship
The course includes a one-month internship
based on the theoretical learning in the classroom.
The internship would provide the insights
on the various aspects of retail with the
main focus being Visual Merchandising. The
internship helps the students to integrate
theory with practical work through the interface
with the industry. It also exposes the students
to the dynamics of the real world as well
as giving potential recruiters a preview of
the quality of workforce to be expected from
MICA.
The result is the application
of theory to practice, classroom learning
to market understanding and thought to performance.
It provides ample opportunity for the participants
to add, innovate and challenge ideas and techniques
imbibed in the academic learning. Further,
it helps them develop a practical understanding
of their areas of interest and opt for a career
matching their skills and profile.
Final project
The final project incorporates
the results of an investigation in the area
of specialization. It enables students to
apply the concepts, techniques and tools learnt
during the programme to a real life situation.
The students are expected to research and
understand a real life visual merchandising
situation and come up with a solution in the
form of an innovative design and an implementation
strategy. This project shall preferably be
undertaken within a live industry environment.
