MICA now offers the “Executive Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Communications)” for young aspirants with work experience.

MICA, India’s premier Communications Management school has been on the forefront of academic innovation and excellence in the areas of Communications Management since 1991. MICA is now launching the new flagship programme for participants with work experience. The new Executive Post Graduate Programme in Communications Management (PGPCMX) is designed uniquely to suit the requirement of the industry which needs qualified professionals at middle and senior level. The programme is unique in its approach and focuses on exciting and upcoming industry sectors like Retail, Design, Media, Events and Entertainment.

The PGPCMX is a 15 months, full-time, residential programme approved by AICTE. The PGPCMX leads to the award of the Executive Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Communications)

Rationale:

The objective of the programme is to create talented managers ready to bring in innovative thinking in the organizations at the middle management roles. In devising this programme, MICA has responded to the expressed need of the various industry sectors for thought leaders in middle level management. The course is so designed that the participants will gain management perspectives through a unique pedagogy of experiential learning and stimulating peer interaction. The programme offers a unique opportunity to learn and exchange of ideas with a distinguished faculty and industry practitioners.

Focus on the specific role and domain that a participant is interested in pursuing is the unique aspect of this programme. The customized approach thus ensures:

a) A specific role woven around a defined context and domain focus

b) A blend of theory and practice through an integrated teaching-learning process

c) Addressing new and upcoming domain areas of Retail, Design, Media, Events & Entertainment.




Positioning and Philosophy

The course caters to specific industry requirements as it combines focused domain expertise with a communications management perspective. The programme will have a unique model of combining industry internships with a comprehensive dissertation which gives the participant a holistic approach towards contemporary business environment.

The PGPCMX is best suited for working professionals to add value to their careers in a short time. The programme is rigorous, intense and will encourage learning beyond classroom discussions and the focused process will prepare participants to analyze situations quickly and apply skills to real business situations.

Programme Details:

Duration and nature: 15 months, full time, residential

• 12 months campus component including the Global Immersion Module

• 3 months Industry Internship

Eligibility

• Bachelor's degree of a minimum of three years in any discipline from a recognized University in India or abroad.

• Work experience of a minimum of three years after Graduation. Work experience of up to five years will be preferred.

• GMAT/ CAT/ XAT Score not earlier than 2006.

Please enclose the scoresheet and a Demand draft for Rs. 1500/- favouring 'MICA’ and payable at Ahmedabad.

Selected candidates will be required to take the MICA admission test (MICAT), group Exercise (GE) and personal interview (PI) GMAT/CAT/XAT score of 2006/07.

Industry Internship:

Three month industry internships are specially designed to give participants a hands on exposure to the relevant domain areas and will keep them abreast about latest happenings in the corporate world. They will be assigned special mentors and in the end they will do a comprehensive project with that particular company.

Dissertation:

Comprehensive research based dissertation is compulsory at the end of the programme.

Evaluation

MICA follows a continuous evaluation system. Apart from mid-term and end-term written tests, students are evaluated through quizzes, assignments and class participation. Some courses require term papers and projects.
