The Design Communications Management (DCM) programme is an intensive one-year management program created to fill the particular requirements of practicing designers, including industrial designers, architects, interior designers, graphic designers, fashion designers, as well as brand and marketing managers, planners and strategists.
The curriculum covers studies, planning and strategy; marketing; people and organizational dynamics; operating environments; project management and logistics; finance; Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and innovation management. The programme also has a very strong research component as well as practical training modules in industries based in India and abroad.
The academic year is divided into four terms of 12 weeks each. The third term of the programme is utilized for an industry internship (either within India or abroad) of eight to ten weeks and an international exposure visit to a major design centric country for two to three weeks. Final job placement activities are during the fourth term.
